Departing from Sydney we head north across the Hawkesbury River and out through National Parks where we stop at a peaceful overlook for morning tea and a chat about the whole itinerary.
Continuing on we stop at a boutique Hunter Valley winery for a tasting. After travelling through Denman we stop near a farm for a picnic lunch (weather permitting) then through Cassilis on the way to Coolah Tops National Park. This park is located on top of a mountain which we climb to experience arguably the largest and most diverse range of native animals anywhere in Australia in their natural environment - includes kangaroos, wallaroos, wallabies and possibly koalas, wombats, dingo and emu.
After a steep drive up we enjoy the breathtaking forests, spellbinding waterfalls (rainfall dependant) and extensive views across the fertile Liverpool Plains. This evening we spend time with the farm owners at a delightful sheep and cattle property, and learn about the country life and enjoy a very social evening over a home cooked meal, along with some great wine.
This morning we are taken on a farm inspection which allows guests to understand the differences in farming techniques in Australia. Mid-morning we depart the farm and head south travelling through some stunning valleys with towering sandstone escarpments. We drive through historic towns of Rylstone and Kandos, whilst enjoy the stunning scenery of Wollemi National Park, the largest wilderness area in NSW.
We drive into the Blue Mountains National Park for lunch and have time to explore spectacular views in the heart of this unique World Heritage Listed Region before driving back in Sydney.
