7.30AM Your informative and knowledgeable guide will collect you from your Sydney hotel and we travel to The Southern Highlands via the south coast, a 2 hour drive south from Sydney. The region is an historic and sublime escape that has been a well-kept secret by Sydneysiders for many years. An inviting mix of traditional colonial era farming settlements and splendid natural Australian high country.

This morning we will travel through the Royal National Park, the world’s second oldest National Park and home to stunning coastal beaches and native bush landscape. We will then head inland and enjoy the stunning forested drive through Jamberoo with a stop at the lookout for spectacular scenic views of Kiama and Lake Illawarra. We then travel into the picturesque Budderoo National Park and the Carrington Falls. With its cascades, waterholes and rock pools, this is where the Kangaroo River plunges over 50m to the gully below and is one of the most beautiful falls on the South Coast. Here we will enjoy short walks to the variety of the lookouts and enjoy morning tea/coffee refreshments.

Leaving the National Park, we travel over Mt Gibraltar home to stunning Country Estates and enjoy a lookout stop over the region. We then make our way to a delightful boutique Winery. The burgeoning cool climate wine trail of the highlands will delight you as you sample wines from a local estate with complimentary cheese to enjoy.

Arrive in historic Berrima for a stroll around this charming colonial era village. Surrounded by the lush Southern Highlands countryside, the historic village of Berrima is full of charm, character and elegance. With its colonial sandstone buildings, Berrima is widely recognised as the best preserved Georgian village in mainland Australia. A 2 course Lunch with beverage of choice will be taken at a selected venue in the Berrima area.

After lunch we tailor to your demands, which could include a visit to another winery, a brewery, a lookout, one of the magnificent manicured gardens or some antique shopping before commencing our return to Sydney. Our final stop of the day is at the Australian Botanic Gardens where we enjoy a short stroll to view one of the famous “Wollemi Pines’ and enjoy a glass of bubbles by the lake.
From here we head back to your hotel to arrive at approximately 5- 5.30pm.
