We discover spectacular coastlines, magnificent wilderness, top food and wine experiences and gorgeous seaside and hinterland towns on this 8 day adventure.

ITINERARY

DAY 1 – SYDNEY – JERVIS BAY (LD)

We begin our discovery of the NSW South Coast, just south of Sydney on the Grand Pacific Drive touring route, winding our way through the Wollongong area and over the stunning Sea Cliff Bridge. We enjoy a stop at Stanwell Park, an acclaimed spot for hang-gliding and paragliding and enjoy morning tea refreshments and views of the azure-coloured sea. From here, we journey through Kiama and visit the famous Kiama Blowhole. Arriving into the picturesque village of Berry for lunch with time to explore the boutique shops. Late afternoon we arrive at our accommodation Paperbark Camp. Combining Premium tented accommodation with wonderful food, Paperbark Camp is a peaceful bush retreat in beautiful Jervis Bay.

DAY 2 – JERVIS BAY (BD)

With its white sand beaches, sparkling blue waters and abundance of wildlife, Jervis Bay is a popular seaside escape. Home to two national parks as well as the Jervis Bay Marine Park – a haven for bottlenose dolphins, fur seals, little penguins, weedy sea dragons and migrating whales. Today is spent exploring this gorgeous region – for spectacular views we head to Point Perpendicular Lighthouse on the northern tip of the bay and Cape St George Lighthouse on the southern side. We also cruise the bay and look for some of the bay’s wildlife including bottle nose dolphins, little penguins and fur seals. We stop at the Huskisson Hotel where we purchase lunch at leisure and have time to explore the small town. Late afternoon we return to Paperbark Camp.

DAY 3 – JERVIS BAY – MILTON – NAROOMA (BLD)

Departing from Jervis Bay we continue South and stop in first to visit the region of Lake Conjola and then on to the town of Milton.  Time at leisure to explore the heritage streetscapes, gourmet indulgences and unique shopping in this stylish town full of country charm.    From Milton we stop in at gorgeous Pebbly Beach which is famous for its friendly Kangaroos before continuing our journey south through Bateman’s Bay, Moruya and Bodalla to our destination for the next 3 nights, Narooma.   Lunch to be enjoyed enroute.  Dinner this evening is at a local restaurant.

DAY 4 – NAROOMA (BLD)

After an early breakfast we head off to enjoy a spectacular morning boat trip to Montague Island. Just off the coast of Narooma, Montague Island is home to two seal colonies and many seabirds and is located within the protected Batemans Bay Marine Park. Take the opportunity to snorkel with the seals (weather dependent). Marvel at the dolphins who often follow the boat. At certain times of the year when the whales are migrating, you are bound to see these amazing creatures just off Narooma’s coastline (May to September). Returning we enjoy lunch at a local café before spending the afternoon exploring the beauty of Narooma including Australia Rock, Mill Bay Boardwalk and the Glasshouse Rocks. Dinner tonight enjoyed at a local restaurant which uses only the best local produce sourced from within 100 kilometres of the restaurant.

DAY 5 – NAROOMA – (BL)

Our adventure today starts with a visit to Mystery Bay, a treasure trove of bays, inlets & unique rock formations. Then on to the picturesque town of Tilba and a visit at the Tilba Valley Winery & Ale House. With 10 acres of established vines we enjoy a tasting of the available offerings. For beer lovers we have you covered… step into the Alehouse for a tasting of brews!! After a delightful lunch at the winery, we spend time exploring. Set against the magnificent backdrop of Gulaga/Mt Dromedary, Central Tilba is a perfectly restored and maintained period village, featuring a host of unique shops and galleries. Returning to Narooma, we enjoy a visit to the Narooma Oyster Farm. The region is renowned for having the most environmentally aware oyster growers. Here we enjoy a sunset cruise and discover how they are produced and cultivated as we sample the product, washed down by some chilled sparkling! The evening is at leisure with dinner at own cost.

DAY 6 – NAROOMA – BOWRAL (BL)

This morning we explore beautiful Wagonga Inlet and learn about its history from our local guide aboard the Wagonga Princess. Our morning cruise is an eco-based cruise focusing on the wildlife and a stop off visit to enjoy a rainforest walk, identifying various species of flora including a couple of giant strangler figs! From here, we travel up the coast to Ulladulla. Inspired by scenic Mollymook, Rick Stein at Bannisters is the perfect location for true lovers of freshly caught seafood and great wine. Our evening destination is Bowral, a charming Southern Highlands Village. The evening is at leisure with dinner at own cost.

DAY 7 – SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS (BLD)

There is so much to see in the Southern Highlands, from spectacular waterfalls and sprawling national parks to boutique wineries dotted throughout the landscape. The region’s towns, cellar doors and natural wonders are all within easy driving distance of each other.  Today is spent exploring – enjoy short walks in the National Parks, sample fine wine at boutique wineries or perhaps a refreshing ale at a local brewery, sample local produce – so many hidden delights for food, wine and nature lovers! Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 8 – BOWRAL – SYDNEY (BL)

This morning we travel into the picturesque Budderoo National Park, known for it’s gorgeous waterfalls and lookouts. Nature lovers will be in their element today with pristine rainforest walks, gorgeous waterfalls and stunning lookouts on our agenda today. We will visit a selection of waterfalls and enjoy walks through the lush beauty of the rainforest. Lunch will be picnic style today before we commence our return to Sydney to arrive approximately 4.30pm.

FITNESS REQUIRED MEDIUM – Whilst this tour is not physically demanding it does include nature walks in National Parks. There will be times where you will be required to navigate uneven tracks, inclines/descents on walks and all participants are required to be able to walk unaided and will not need any foreseen assistance throughout the journey. For all clients to fully enjoy this travel experience, excellent health and mobility is required by all.
