ITINERARY

8.00AM

Departing Sydney, we drive over Georges River, through the Sutherland Shire and into the Royal National Park. Our first stop is Wattamolla Beach, where your guide will brief you on the details of the day. We begin our hike with an easy 20 minute walk to Providential Lookout, providing magnificent views south, our intended route. Your guide will then lead you on an approximately 2.5 hour hike along the Coast Track heading south, hugging the cliff line, where waves crash against the shore, to create dramatic sandstone cliffs, exposing the millions of years of layered sediment. Your expert guide will explain the Aboriginal history of the area as well as local flora and fauna.

After crossing the Curracurrong Creek, we take a short break at the aptly named Eaglehead Rock Lookout, to admire the uncanny rock formation and the waterfall plunging into the sea. Here we will enjoy some light snacks provided by your guide. We continue heading along the rock shelf, and thickets of native scrub, to emerge into an opening with a view to remember and our destination, Garie Beach. Descending the hill, we soon have our feet on the beach, where on arrival you will be met by an AEA Guide ready with a refreshing cold beer, glass of wine or bubbles! A casual lunch is then served picnic style at this stunning beach location.

Tearing ourselves away from the beach we rejoin the vehicle. A short drive away is Stanwell Tops, where you can admire coastal views before joining the scenic Grand Pacific Drive, and one of the most remarkable engineering achievements of its time, the Sea Cliff Bridge. Between May-November, you may even see a migrating whale breaching just off the coast. We return to Sydney via the Princes Motorway, arriving at 5.00pm
