If you don’t gain a few kilograms while touring with us around Country NSW, you’re simply not trying hard enough! Food and wine is an integral part of life and we are taking you on a quest to seek out mouth-watering produce as we travel through historic towns and beautiful countryside.

Taste the terroir of Country NSW in the form of award winning food and wine that celebrates local ingredients. However, it’s not just about tasting a great dish or drinking a lovely glass of wine – it’s about meeting the talented chefs, producers, winemakers, artisans and growers and then immersing yourself in the landscape.

ITINERARY

DAY 1 – SYDNEY – CANBERRA (L)

Today’s journey takes us from Australia’s most populated city to Australia’s capital city. Travel south via The Royal National Park, Australia’s oldest National Park and home to stunning coastal beaches and native bush landscape. We take the Grand Pacific Drive, one of the country’s most scenic roads edging the Pacific Ocean. Our first stop is Kiama, home to the world’s largest blowhole, with spectacular plumes of water. We next drive inland and enjoy the stunning forested drive before entering the picturesque Budderoo National Park and an easy walk to visit to the Carrington Falls. Travelling on through the beautiful highlands, a region with its historic and sublime landscape teaming with local wineries and local fresh produce. We stop a local boutique winery to sample a variety of wines and cheeses, followed by lunch. From here, we drive to Canberra via the Hume Highway, arriving at our accommodation approximately 4pm. You have the evening at leisure, dinner own expense.

DAY 2 – CANBERRA – YOUNG (BLD)

This morning we spend time exploring the highlights of our Nation’s Capital before we head out of the city and into wine country. Murrumbateman is home to acclaimed wineries and we stop in at one of the local wineries for a personalised tasting and lunch. We spend the afternoon exploring the Yass Valley which is blessed with some truly stunning scenery and delightful country villages and towns ripe for sightseeing. Late afternoon we arrive into Young, our destination for the next two nights. Dinner tonight at a local restaurant is included.

DAY 3 – YOUNG (BL)

Surrounded by orchards, vineyards and olive groves, Young is a historic gold rush town famous for its delicious cherries. Nestled in the cool climate Hilltops wine region, we spend the day discovering the gold rush history and visit wineries and fruit orchards to sample local delights! Dinner tonight is at own expense.

DAY 4 – YOUNG – COWRA (BLD)

A leisurely start this morning as we make our way to Cowra, a charming town surrounded by vineyards, waterways and pretty countryside in the beautiful Lachlan Valley. It is home to fascinating historical buildings and military history, as well as tranquil gardens and fine wines. This afternoon’s exploration includes a visit to the former Prisoner of War Camp Site, where over a thousand Japanese prisoners staged a mass escape in 1944. Cowra has since forged a special relationship with Japan, reflected in the Japanese and Australian war cemeteries and Cowra Japanese Garden.

DAY 5 – COWRA (BL)

This morning, time to stretch our legs and stroll through Cowra’s historic past on the heritage walk. In a leisurely hour, we take in the sights like the old federation-style courthouse, the gothic stone St Raphael’s church and Cowra Public School, built in 1882. After our morning’s exercise, time to indulge!! The Cowra wine region has more than 30 vineyards planted around the historic towns and villages and the region champions sustainable viticulture, creating organic wines and biodynamic wines. The rest of the day is spent exploring the villages and visiting a selection of wineries for tastings and lunch. Return late afternoon to our accommodation with evening at leisure. Dinner tonight own expense.

DAY 6 – COWRA – BLUE MOUNTAINS (BLD)

Our first stop today is the beautiful heritage listed village of Millthorpe. We have some time to explore the picturesque town at leisure. Continuing to Bathurst where we explore the Gold Rush Heritage and embrace motor racing fever in Australia’s oldest inland colonial settlement. We enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and spend some time exploring before travelling on to Blackheath and our overnight stop at the Hydro Majestic Hotel, an iconic historical hotel stretching 1.1km along the escarpment edge of the spectacular World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains overlooking the picturesque Megalong Valley. Tonight we have a farewell dinner in the beautiful Wintergarden Restaurant.

DAY 7 – BLUE MOUNTAINS – SYDNEY (BL)

Home to some of the country’s most dazzling natural attractions and charming country villages, the Blue Mountains are world famous. With sensational views over the deep valley troughs, formed over millions of years, the lookouts are spectacular. Today we spend exploring a selection of remote lookouts away from the crowds to learn of the history, flora and fauna of this stunning region. Enjoy short walks and a visit to the gorgeous village of Leura to explore the boutique shops and indulge in a delicious lunch. Arrive in Sydney approximately 4.30-5.00pm where tour will conclude.

The pricing quoted is currently based on a minimum of 8 guests and is an indicative cost.
